If you had a chance to see World War Z, starring Brad Pitts hair, and you didn’t wonder why you saw it, you’ll be happy to be hearing the buzz about the sequel. So, look forward to another movie where characters have no real motivation other than to run from zombies and you can see every plot point coming from miles away.
Of course, no level of terrible film adapting could cause total distaste for zombie scenarios, and we’ve gotten word of a local Kickstarter for what sounds like a fully thought out replication of a survival situation. This isn’t the haunted houses with set paths like you’ve seen in the past couple of years. Survive the Dead would be a full course with many rooms, hallways and other areas you explore and survive on your own. You’ll need to find ammo, weapons and keys while leveling up your character. If this gets funded, it will be live action role playing with nerf guns. It’s what we’ve always wanted with less getting your brains eaten.
We hope to see you all at the GeekCLE Show and Tell this Friday at XYZ the Tavern in Cleveland. We’ve decided to change the rules a little to ease some minds. The basic idea is to bring something you think everyone should know and love (a movie, game, book, etc.) and possibly find your new obsession. Here’s what has changed – you have the choice to either exchange with someone, if you feel comfortable, or you can simply look into buying that something for yourself from a local shop. We will also have some great prizes.
This week has some really great events planned for Cleveland. More after the jump.
