This week is perfect for enjoying all those comic books you’ve stock piled and need to catch up on. Maybe a book you confessed to not yet reading at yesterday’s Pop! Meeting. Get outside, enjoy the summer sunshine – or avoid that, indoor kids – and get to reading!
Don’t miss out on Show and Tell at the Callaloo Cafe on Friday. Bring your favorite book, game, toy, or movie and get geeky with other Clevelanders. This is a great opportunity to find new people to play that game you keep meaning to get back into or find a new book to read. Maybe you just want to hangout with people that get your nerdy references or maybe you just finally got into Doctor Who and desperately need to talk to someone about how it’s consuming your life (which is unavoidable).
Other happenings in Cleveland this week…
Thursday starting at 5:30 p enjoy brats and Great Lakes Brewing Company craft beers at Birds, Beasts, Brats and Beer at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, an annual event. See bobcats, otters, birds of prey and other native Ohio animals in action as they interact with wildlife specialists during animal enrichment demonstrations. Attendees can also check out a special Birds and Beasts planetarium show at 8:30 pm in the Nathan & Fannye Shafran Planetarium and see the stars through the telescope.
Comedy, Sci-fi, Action movie, The World’s End, staring Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Martin Freeman and directed by Edgar Wright will be in theaters Friday. The last in the Cornetto Trilogy, The World’s End follows 5 childhood friends who reunite to complete a pub crawl when they suddenly are tasked with saving the world.
