Up for a challenge? How about creating a 24 page comic book in 24 hours?
GeekCLE is teaming up with Ohio City Writers for 24 Hour Comics Day. This day long party starts October 4th at 7pm, and ends, as you may have guessed, after 24 hours.
Back in 1990, Scott McCloud and a friend dared each other to create a 24 page comic book in 24 hours. Story, art, lettering, everything had to be completed by the end of the 24th hour. 24-Hour Comics Day is now an annual world wide challenge taken up by thousands of artists and writers and we’re inviting you to take on the task.
You can work alone (as the event founder intended), or as part of a team (he’s flexible). That team can be made up of friends, or people you meet that night. We recommend the latter.
Your book can be made of any materials with any mediums. The 24 hours are continuous. You can take a nap and eat, but the clock keeps ticking.
The 24 Hour challenge will only be open to adults 18 and up, but we haven’t left out the kids! We’ll soon have information on a shorter session better suited for kids and teens working along side real comic creators.
Registration will be opening soon, so keep an eye out for more information!
