X-Men: Battle For The Atom #1 is a 10 issue crossover celebrating the X-Men’s 50th anniversary finds the future X-Men in the present to recruiting the X-Men of their past to go back with them. Jonathan Hickman’s new indie series, God Is Dead #1, features the gods of old returning to stake their claim to the earth.
The Rust Belt Monster Collective will be doing a live mural painting as part of Great Lakes Brewing Company’s 25th Anniversary Block Party.
Opening this Friday, Riddick, an action, scifi thriller, and third movie in this Vin Deisel vehicle, follows a man left for dead battling for his life against an alien race.

At this month’s Science Cafe Cleveland, Dr. Michael A. Weiss, Case Western Reserve University, will discuss how an XY human embryo, whose initial development follows female lines, undergoes a switch to the male body plan. Clues to the mechanism of this switch are provided by analysis of anomalous XY females. Rare families in which the father and daughter share the same Y chromosome raise intriguing questions regarding the biological origins of gender identity.
