For GeekCLE Trivia Night, starting at 9p, we will be giving out prizes to geeks that know the answers to increasingly nerdy questions. Past trivia nights have included questions like “What fictional doctor of science said: ’Why worry? Each one of us is carrying an unlicensed nuclear accelerator on his back.’?” or “Luke compared the trench run on the Death Star to where back home?”. The Great Lakes Science Center is having their 9th Annual New Year’s Eve Eve Celebration starting at 7p. The whole family can get down on some fake snow, fruitcake explosions, liquid nitrogen ice cream and Omnimax double feature. Make sure to register!
POP! The Comic Culture Club, a club open to everyone who is interested in a friendly discussion of pop culture, is meeting tonight in Parma for their annual “Show and Tell”.

Art Bites: Potterific Portratis

Alas, Muggle portraits don’t move, but Muggle painters still had some tricks of their own up their sleeves. Check out some of the most “magical” portraits in the collection.
During all of December and January, the Lorain County Historical Society will be displaying a Vintage Toys Exhibition featuring a selection of approximately 30 vintage toys from the LCHS collection as well as from some private collections. Enjoy seeing some of the types of toys you played with as a child, or see the items Grandma and Grandpa were thrilled to receive in years gone by.
